I’m doing a swim on Sunday, May 22, as part of the annual Bay Parade. I’m part of a relay team, and we’ll be swimming about 6 miles from the Golden Gate Bridge to AT&T park.
Click here to support my swim for a cleaner SF Bay.
It’s a fundraiser for Baykeeper, a nonprofit that fights to keep the SF Bay clean of pollution and other hazards. It’s a great organization whose work everyone in the Bay Area benefits from, even if you aren’t a swimmer. Sailing, windsurfing, kiteboarding, or just hanging out near the water–these are all far more pleasant and safe when the water is clean and free of pollution, sewage, garbage, etc.
So: If you help me raise $500, I’ll wear this magical unicorn cap during the final leg of the Parade. They’ll be filming the parade as we enter McCovey Cove, just outside the ballpark–and they’ll broadcast it on the Jumbotron at that night’s SF Giants game–so, well, if I’m a swimming magical unicorn, I might just be a swimming magical unicorn on the Jumbotron.
Isn’t that something you want to help make happen? Yes, yes, it is. Please make a donation to help keep the Bay Clean.
