Editorial consulting, ghostwriting, and speechwriting
Through Tweney Media LLC, I work with companies and executives to shape their messages and help them tell their stories. Services include messaging development, narrative development, writing, editing, and content strategy for thought leadership. I also produce content products including research reports, e-books, magazines. (I even wrote a children’s book for an energy client!) You can hire me to write blog posts, op-eds, articles, speeches, presentation talk tracks, and full-length books. I also offer media training and speech coaching, drawing on my decades of experience as a news editor, journalist, and public speaker, plus my many media appearances. We can work out whatever combination of writing, editing, and coaching that fits what you need. Pricing is by project or retainer, with a $2,500 minimum. Writing development and coaching
Are you looking to improve your writing skills, build a nourishing writing practice, or tap into your heart’s deep core of creativity and presence? I would like to help you find your voice, whether you’re seeking support, motivation, or feedback to help you grow as a writer. People I’ve mentored at WIRED and VentureBeat have gone on to brilliant careers at the New York Times, Fast Company, and CNN, as well as positions in leading venture firms and PR agencies.
I’m now offering a coaching program that starts wherever you are on your journey and help you become the writer you’ve dreamed of being. We can approach this through addressing the essential elements of compelling human writing: purpose, empathy, and personal stake. We can work together on making your case persuasively and I can help you with many dimensions of craft, including conciseness, specificity, precision, tone, and voice. And I can help you with multiple stages of the creative writing life:
- Starting a writing practice – keeping a notebook – “composting”
- Silencing the inner critic – writing messy first drafts – building a rhythm – planting seeds – “growing”
- Planning projects – assembling drafts – “harvesting”
- Revising, rewriting, editing – polishing your work – getting it ready for publication – “cooking”
- Pitching work to publications – self publishing through newsletters or blogs – promotion – dealing with feedback – closing the loop
I can also coach you on using AI as an assistant, not a replacement, for your your own wild and precious voice.
INTRODUCTORY PRICING: From now until the end of 2026, an initial one-hour writing consultation is $250 and subsequent coaching sessions are $200. I offer a discounted rate of $700 for four sessions.

Editing and feedback on work in progress
Everyone needs an editor. I’m an experienced editor of journalism and nonfiction with particular expertise in business, AI technologies, enterprise software, SaaS, cybersecurity, and consumer tech. I have a constructive, supportive approach to helping you develop your ideas (developmental editing) and refine and polish your words (line editing). An initial one-hour consultation, including feedback on your project structure, purpose, and audience, plus editing of up to 2,500 words or 10 pages of your draft, is $500. Subsequent sessions are $200 per hour of editing or meeting time, or $1,750 for 10 sessions. For bigger projects, I can customize a package that works for you with a combination of asynchronous edits and real-time meetings.
Listener poems and consultations
And now for something different: Has anyone ever written a poem for you? I am a Certified Listener Poet and I would love to write a poem for you, on any topic you choose. We meet for 20 or 30 minutes, I ask a few questions and listen deeply to your answers, and within in a few days, I send you a poem. You will have a chance to make suggestions or changes, as this is a co-creation between us. People find the “Listener Poem” process can be deeply touching, and it can help you achieve clarity, process grief, and see the beauty in your life anew. It is also possible to offer a Listener Poem for a friend of yours. I charge $150 for a one-page Listener Poem. Read more about listener poetry here.

I offer writing workshops and classes that can help you and your team become better writers and achieve your goals. An acclaimed public speaker, I deliver practical, engaging workshops that help your team members become better writers, communicators, and thought leaders. Unlike many other writing workshop leaders, I am a savvy and experienced user of AI, and my workshops directly address what AI is good at, how to use it to help improve your writing, and where to avoid using it.
