I am attending the School of Journalism at Columbia U. I cannot tell what I will do after graduation, but in this day and age, you need a paycheck especially in the Big Apple.

Great post, Dylan. As the number of nontraditional journalists grows, it would be nice to traditional journalists branching out into other arenas — teaching, making innovative educational materials, etc…

Well said Dylan! I could say the same, I also got into journalism for the money because I didn’t see my fiction writing leading to a paycheck anytime soon. The coffee shop wasn’t really cutting it either Luckily it turned out to be a career that I love.
